Three decades of getting the details right.

I'm Jeane Sumner — graphic designer turned web expert, business owner, and the real person behind every project and every article on this site.

Hosting that never sleeps

A designer first.

I came up the old-fashioned way — paste-up boards, ink, and a deep love of type. Long before "UX" was a word, I was learning the thing that still matters most: how to make information clear, beautiful, and trustworthy.

When the web arrived, most of my peers saw a curiosity. I saw a storefront that never closes. I taught myself to build for it early, and I've spent every year since helping small businesses use it well.

A business owner, too.

Here's the part that sets my advice apart: I don't just build businesses' websites — I run businesses. Several of them, alongside my husband. I know what it's like to make payroll, to wear every hat, to lie awake wondering whether the website is quietly losing customers.

When I tell you something will help your business, it's because I've tested it on my own.

That's why my clients trust my word. I'm not handing you theory from a textbook or a junior account manager. I'm giving you what's actually worked, in plain English, from someone who's been in your shoes.

Why I write.

After thirty years, I've learned that the best thing I can do for a business owner isn't always to build their site — it's to help them understand it. So I started writing. The Friday Five and the articles you'll find here are my way of handing over the knowledge, whether or not we ever work together.

Because confident owners make better decisions. And better decisions build better businesses.

THE LONG VERSION

Thirty years,
one throughline.

Tools change constantly. The goal never has: help good businesses be understood and trusted online.

1993

Started in graphic design

Built a reputation for clean, trustworthy print work — logos, brochures, identities for local businesses.

Late 1990s

Moved onto the web

Among the first in the region to offer business websites, hand-coding pages when there were no shortcuts.

2000s

Added hosting & care

Clients wanted their sites looked after, not just launched — so reliable hosting and maintenance became part of the offer.

2010s

Built businesses of my own

Started and grew several ventures with my husband, learning the owner's side of every decision firsthand.

Today

Designer, host & writer

Designing and hosting for a loyal roster of women-run businesses — and sharing what I know, every week.

WHAT YOU CAN COUNT ON

How I work.

The promises behind every project, every article, and every phone call.

Plain English, always

No jargon, no talking down. If I can't explain it simply, I haven't understood it well enough yet.

A real person

You work with me — not a queue, not a chatbot, not a junior you've never met. The same hands, start to finish.

Built to last

I design and host for the long haul. The goal is a site you can stop worrying about for years, not months.

Let's build something you're proud of.

Tell me a little about your business and where you'd like to go. You'll talk to me, Jeane — not a sales team.
